You're Not Digging Deep Enough

Teetering on the honeyed lips of
men who mate with bombs
are the words of today's youth
and yesterday's abortions.
The bowls are draining,
slowly but surely,
and the ears are filling with lead.
It takes a decade
and a smoke-filled car
to step back;
our empathy is dissolving.

It's time to defy
the limits of known
morality.
We will surpass the set boundary
of all you ever imagined.
Let us drown you in charcoal dust
and the ashes of your brother.

We want to beat and smash,
and tear your lungs apart.
You can be beautiful,
and we will make you so.

You must recognize that
violence can bring tears.
Weep and kill for us,
torture yourself to Christ.
We want, we need,
your pain.
