This was really, really hard to read at first. I'm an American, and this book is written primarily in British slang, so I was completely lost for several chapters. As you go through the book though, it gets easier because you can deduct what the words mean out of context. Don't bother looking them up on the internet; it's near impossible.
I really liked the plot in this; it was something I hadn't read before, or atleast not that I remembered. It's about a 29 year old British coke dealer in the 1990's. He plans to retire when he turns 30, and a whole bunch of crap comes up and deters him from that. I loved how it kept twisting at the most unexpected moments, and everyone was a snitch. It really kept me on my toes the entire time... very rocking, indeed. I loved how he tells you about his name at the end, that truly made me smile.
I do suggest that, for the non-Europe versions, they put a glossary in the back for some of those words...
Though I do catch myself using some of the slang. xD
All in all, this is a real worthwhile read, though I feel it sort of glorifies the life of a drug dealer, but then again, when you get that high, it probably is pretty glorious.
Very gut, ja!
